Schools are not permitted to organize New Year greetings, give flowers, or gifts to leaders at all levels

This is a notable content of Official Dispatch 36/GDDT-VP concerning the work of care and the organization of activities to prepare for the Lunar New Year Canh Ty 2020, issued by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City on January 06, 2020.

Schools are not allowed to organize Tet celebrations and give gifts to leaders at all levels

To be specific, in this Official Dispatch, the Department of Education and Training requests that Heads of Units strictly implement the following contents:

- Implement Plan 229/KH-CDGD regarding the care for Tet Nguyen Dan Canh Ty - year 2020 with the motto "solidarity, joyful, excited, safe, and economical, ensuring everyone and every home can enjoy Tet and welcome Spring";

- Organize cultural - artistic, physical - sports activities, exchange camps celebrating spring - celebrating the Communist Party in a cheerful, healthy, and economical manner;

- Do not take advantage of holidays or Tet to organize feasts and banquets;

- Do not waste the money and assets of the state, collectives, or money sourced from the budget, public funds, or sponsors to reward or gift organizations and individuals in any form that does not comply with state policies;

- Do not organize Tet visits, give flowers, or gifts to leaders at all levels in any form;

- Do not use public vehicles and assets contrary to regulations for Tet holiday and recreational activities.

In addition, the Department also directs that units allocated rewards from funds according to policies for individuals or units that have coordinated and assisted must publicly disclose the reward list and reward amounts to the entire unit. Unit leaders are responsible for organizing inspections and handling collectives and individuals who violate and will be held accountable if violations occur.

Moreover, schools need to pay attention to, care for, visit, and give Tet gifts to disadvantaged students, students who cannot afford to go home for Tet, teachers and employees facing difficulties; retired teachers and employees; officials, teachers, employees, and students who have relatives working in sea and border regions of the Motherland.
