1. Content and methods of assessing students studying the Eradication of Illiteracy Program
The contents and methods of assessing students studying the Eradication of Illiteracy Program according to Article 5 of Circular 10/2022/TT-BGDDT are as follows:
1.1. Content of assessment of students studying the Eradication of Illiteracy Program
- Evaluating the learning process, progress, and learning outcomes of students to meet the requirements and specific performance of the competency components of each subject according to the Eradication of Illiteracy Program.
- Assess the formation and development of students' qualities and capacities through the main qualities and core competencies according to the provisions of the Eradication of Illiteracy Program .
1.2. Methods of assessing students studying the Eradication of Illiteracy Program
- Rating by comments:
+ Teachers observe students in the process of teaching in class and record students' expressions to use as evidence to evaluate the learning and training process of students;
+ Teachers make comments and assessments about students' products and performance results, thereby evaluating students according to each relevant evaluation content;
+ Teachers communicate with students through questions and answers to collect information in order to make timely comments and help measures;
+ Teachers comment through students using oral or written form to self-criticize and participate in commenting on other students and groups of students on the performance of training and learning tasks.
- Rating by score: Teachers shall use tests consisting of questions and exercises designed according to the level and requirements of the Eradication of Illiteracy Program, in the form of multiple choice, essay, or a combination of multiple choice and essay.

2. Regular assessment of students in the Eradication of Illiteracy Program in Vietnam
Regularly evaluate students of the Eradication of Illiteracy Program according to Article 6 of Circular 10/2022/TT-BGDDT as follows:
- Regular assessment of the learning content of the subjects:
+ Teachers use flexibly and appropriately assessed methods, but mainly through words, pointing out to students what is right and wrong and how to correct it; writing comments on students' notebooks or learning products when necessary, and taking specific measures to help in a timely manner.
+ Students self-review and participate in commenting on the learning products of other students and groups of students in the process of performing learning tasks to learn and practice better.
+ For the learning topics of the subject conducted in the 5th semester of the Eradication of Illiteracy Program, each student is evaluated according to each learning topic, in which the result of 01 (one) assessment is selected as the evaluation result of the cluster of learning topics of the subject.
The evaluation results of a cluster of learning topics for the subject are counted as the result of 01 (one) regular assessment of that subject for use in evaluating the learning results of the subjects.
- Regular assessment of the formation and development of qualities and capacities:
+ Teachers use flexibly and appropriately designed assessment methods; based on the manifestations of awareness, behavior, and attitude of the trainees and compare them with the required requirements of each key quality and core competence under the Eradication of Illiteracy Program to comment and take timely measures to help.
+ Students are allowed to self-review and participate in commenting on other students and groups of students on the manifestations of each key quality and core competence to improve themselves.
3. Periodic assessment of students of the Eradication of Illiteracy Program in Vietnam
Periodic assessment of students of the Eradication of Illiteracy Program according to Article 7 of Circular 10/2022/TT-BGDDT as follows:
* Periodic assessment of the learning content of the subjects:
- Periodic tests
During each semester, each subject has 04 (four) periodic tests at times consistent with the program implementation schedule; in which there are 03 (three) exams in the semester and 01 (one) exam at the end of the semester. The test scores at the end of the semester are calculated by a factor of 2, and the test scores for the semester are calculated by a factor of 1;
+ The test questions for each subject are built based on the requirements of each subject specified in the Eradication of Illiteracy Program. Not carrying out periodic evaluations of the study clusters;
+ For Vietnamese and Math subjects, the periodical test time is 70 minutes. For the remaining subjects, the period for taking the periodic test is 35 minutes;
+ The test is scored on a 10-point scale. Test scores are integers or decimals taken to the first decimal place after rounding;
+ Students who lack the periodical test will be compensated. Compensatory testing is done each semester. In the event that students do not participate in the make-up test, they will receive 0 (zero) points for that test.
- At the end of each semester, teachers base themselves on the regular assessment process and the requirements to achieve, showing specific components of the competencies of each subject.
To assess students for each subject on the following levels:
+ Successfully complete: performing well the learning requirements and regularly showing specific expressions of the subject's competency components;
+ Completing: completing the learning requirements and having specific manifestations of the subject's competency components;
+ Unfinished: Some learning requirements have not yet been fulfilled, or there has been no specific expression of the subject's competency components.
* Periodic assessment of the formation and development of qualities and capacities:
At the end of each semester, teachers, through their comments and manifestations in the process of regular assessment on the formation and development of each key quality and core competence of each student, shall rank the student at the following levels:
- Good: Satisfying educational requirements well, clearly, and often;
- Satisfied: Satisfying educational requirements, showing clearly but not often;
- Improvement needed: The educational requirements have not been met, the expression is not clear.
