To be specific, according to this Draft, pedagogy students are supported by the state to pay tuition fees equivalent to the tuition fees of the teacher training institution where they are enrolled, but not exceeding the maximum tuition fee cap as regulated by the Government of Vietnam.

Additionally, every month, pedagogy students are supported by the state with VND 3.63 million/month to cover living expenses during their study period at the school. The support for living expenses is uniformly applied throughout the school year and annually adjusted according to the actual consumer price index increase of the previous year, as announced by the state. The support period for tuition and living expenses is based on the actual months of study at the school as regulated, but not exceeding 10 months per academic year.

Thus, if the content of this Draft is approved, in the near future, students of pedagogy schools will receive monthly support for living expenses at a rate of VND 3.63 million/month during their study period at school, and the support period will not exceed 10 months per academic year.

The Draft also emphasizes that, after graduation, pedagogy students working in the education sector for at least twice the training period (starting from the date of recruitment) will not have to repay the supported tuition and living expenses. If after 2 years from graduation, pedagogy students do not work in the education sector or work in the education sector for a period shorter than the prescribed time, they will have to repay the supported tuition and living expenses. The repayment period must not exceed the training period at the teacher training institution.

For pedagogy students who drop out, transfer to another field of study, voluntarily leave, or are disciplined into dropping out during the study period must fully repay the financial support from the state budget.
