This is a notable new point mentioned in the Draft No. 2 of the Circular of the Ministry of Public Security, replacing Circular 15/2016/TT-BCA on regulations for student recruitment in the People's Public Security.

To be specific, Draft stipulates the health conditions for applying to regular university training for those who have graduated from high school or an equivalent as follows:
- Height from 164cm to 195cm for males, from 158cm to 180cm for females;- Body Mass Index (BMI) calculated by dividing weight (kilograms) by the square of height (meters) ranges from 18.5 to 30;- If suffering from refractive errors like myopia or hyperopia, it should not exceed 3 diopters; visual acuity with glasses must reach 10/10, and the total visual acuity of both eyes must reach 19/10 or higher;
Currently, Circular 15/2016/TT-BCA stipulates the health standards as follows: Not suffering from chronic or persistent diseases; balanced physique and physical state; no deformities or malformations; for males, height must be from 1.64m and weight from 48kg and above; for females, height must be from 1.58m and weight from 45kg and above.
It can be seen that this Draft specifies that the BMI of candidates must be in the range from 18.5 to 30. According to the National Institute of Nutrition, a BMI of 25 or higher is considered overweight, 30 or higher is considered obese, and below 18.5 is considered underweight.
Circular 15/2016/TT-BCA only states that candidates must have a balanced physique and physical state and meet minimum weight standards, without specifying a maximum weight limit, showing that the health conditions for police recruitment are becoming stricter.
