- Candidates applying for university or college-level military training must pass a preliminary assessment, meeting the Ministry of National Defense's standards (civilians undergo preliminary assessment at the district-level Military Recruitment Committee ; active soldiers undergo preliminary assessment at the regiment-level Military Recruitment Committee and equivalent).

- Candidates are allowed to register only one first choice (highest preference) to one school within the military when submitting preliminary assessment documents (if the school has multiple programs, candidates may only register for one program); remaining choices can be for non-military schools or the civilian programs of military schools, following the Ministry of Education and Training’s regulations.

- Preliminary assessment period: From March 01, 2018 to April 25, 2018.
