This is one of the notable contents of the Draft Charter for secondary schools, high schools, and multi-level general schools expected to be issued in 2020, replacing the Charter issued with Circular 12/2011/TT-BGDDT.
Secondary School Teachers are assigned to teach according to their training specialization
To be specific, according to Article 19 of this Draft, secondary school teachers have the following rights:
- To teach according to their training specialization; (This is a new content added in the Draft compared to the Regulations issued with Circular 12/2011/TT-BGDDT)
- To receive salary, allowances, and subsidies as prescribed; to change professional titles, grades of professional titles; to enjoy material and spiritual benefits as prescribed; (This content has been regulated in Circular 12/2011/TT-BGDDT and now supplemented in this Draft)
- To contract as visiting lecturers, conduct scientific research at other schools, educational institutions, or research institutions provided that they complete their duties at their current workplace;
- To be respected, protected in terms of dignity, honor, and physical integrity;
- To have summer vacations according to regulations and other holidays as prescribed by law; (This is a new content added in the Draft compared to the Regulations issued with Circular 12/2011/TT-BGDDT)
- Other rights according to the regulations of the law.
For homeroom teachers, in addition to the above rights, they have the following rights:
- To attend the lessons and other educational activities of their class;
- To attend the meetings of the Rewards Council and Disciplinary Council when resolving issues related to their class students;
- To attend training courses, seminars on homeroom teacher work;
- To permit individual students to take leave from school for no more than 3 consecutive days;
- To have reduced weekly teaching hours as a homeroom teacher.
