Vietnam: School admission documents for universities and colleges in the 2020-2021 school year (Illustration)

According to Decision 58/2007/QD-BGDDT, when carrying out school admission procedures at universities, colleges, and professional intermediate schools in Vietnam, new students are required to have the following school admission documents:

1. Academic record from high school or professional intermediate school;

2. Provisional high school diploma or professional intermediate school diploma for those who passed the entrance exam in the graduation year or high school diploma, professional intermediate school diploma for those who graduated in previous years;

3. Birth certificate (or certified copy);

4. Documents certifying preferential policies (or certified true copy) for those eligible for scholarships, allowances, and tuition fee exemptions and reductions;

5. Admission notice from the school;

6. Health certificate;

7. Student's résumé (use the form provided here or the school's specific form as posted);

8. Student card (the school will issue a student card or temporary student card during the school admission procedure).

In addition to the above documents, the school may require students to submit additional documents for admission, class assignments, and student activities at the school such as:

- Identity card or Citizen ID card;

- Portrait (usually 3x4);

- Certificates and awards at the provincial, city, national, or international level;

- International English certificates; IT certificates (if any);

- Notice of the result of the competency assessment exam;

- Health insurance card;

- Youth Union member book;

- …

Note: All the above school admission documents will be returned to the student upon completion of the course at the school.
