Recently, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam issued Circular 08/2021/TT-BGDĐT on regulations on university level training, which will take effect from May 3, 2021.
From May 3, 2021, pregnant students can be temporarily absent from school in Vietnam (Artwork).
One of the new points in this circular is the addition of a case of temporary leave of absence from school and the reservation of learning results. As follows:
Students may temporary leave school and have their study results retained if the student is ill, is pregnant or has an accident that requires long-term treatment, which is verified by the competent healthcare facility according to regulations of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam.
Previously, in Clause 2, Article 5 of Decision 25/2006/QD-BGDDT on the regulation of regular university and college training, students were only allowed to take a temporary leave of absence and reserve their results when they were sick or had an accident requiring long-term treatment with a certificate from a medical authority.
It can be seen that, from May 3, 2021, pregnant female students will be allowed to temporarily leave school and reserve their results, and at the same time, the procedure to be accepted back to study will follow the Regulations of the training institution. create.
On the other hand, the period of temporary absence must be included in the official study time specified in Clause 5, Article 2 of this Regulation, specifically:
Maximum time limit for students to complete a course shall be stipulated in the training institution regulation but shall not be longer than twice the study duration according to the standard learning plan for the whole course for each mode of study. For students who take bridge programs and whose accumulated credits have been accounted for, maximum time limit for them to complete a course shall be determined by deducting the amount of study time corresponding to the completed academic load from the study duration according to the standard learning plan of the whole course.
In addition, students are allowed to withdraw from school for personal reasons, except in the case of being considered for expulsion or disciplinary consideration. These students who want to return to school must apply for the same entrance exam as other candidates.
