According to the Regulation on admission to universities and colleges of preschool education issued in attachment Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDĐT, the thresholds for teacher training sectors and health sector sectors in Vietnam are specified as follows:

The entry threshold (or entry quality assurance threshold) is the minimum requirement for learning capacity expressed in learning outcomes, exam results, assessments so that candidates can attend and complete the training program. (Paragraph 5 of Article 2 of the Regulation)
- Entry thresholds for teacher training sectors and sectors in the field of health with practice certificates shall be announced annually by the Ministry of Education and Training for formal admission methods using the results of upper-secondary school graduation exams in Vietnam.
- For enrolment in regular or non-enrolment methods of upper-secondary school graduation exam results in Vietnam, candidates must meet the entry threshold for teacher training majors and majors in the field of health with practice certificates when:
+ Grade 12 students ranked 8.0 or better or have high school graduation test scores in Vietnam, except for the cases specified at Point b, Clause 2, Article 9 of the Regulation.
+ Students in grade 12 or higher are graded as good or high school graduation test scores in Vietnam of 6.5 or higher for Physical Education and Sports Coaching, Music Pedagogy, Art Pedagogy; Early Childhood Education at college level and for Nursing, Preventive Medicine, Midwifery, Dental Prosthetic Technique, Medical Testing Technique, Medical Imaging Technique, Rehabilitation Technique.
- Candidates who are first-level athletes, litigants, athletes who have won medals at Phu Dong Health Association, national and international youth tournaments, candidates in music and fine arts pedagogy with gifted examinations held by training institutions of excellent quality (from 9.0 or higher on a scale of 10.0) when applying for admission to appropriate majors do not have to apply the entry threshold in Vietnam.
- For applicants who have graduated from the pedagogical high school to apply to the College of Early Childhood Education, the training institution shall provide for and be responsible for the entry threshold.
- Applicants who have graduated from intermediate level or higher in Vietnam and the group of applied majors shall apply the entry threshold as follows:
+ For applicants for admission to universities in the categories of teacher training disciplines and branches in the field of health with practice certificates, except the cases specified at Point b, Clause 5, Article 9 of the Regulation, the entry threshold shall apply one of the following criteria:
Students in grade 12 or higher who achieve good grades or have a GPA in general secondary education in Vietnam of 8.0 or higher.
Graduated from high school in Vietnam with good grade or higher or good grade 12 and have 3 years of work experience in accordance with training expertise.
Graduated from high school, college, university with good grades or higher.
Graduated from intermediate level, or college level or university level and have 3 years of work experience in accordance with the training expertise.
+ For candidates for admission to the universities of Nursing, Preventive Medicine, Midwifery, Dental Prosthetic Technique, Medical Testing Technique, Medical Imaging Technique, Rehabilitation Technique, Music Pedagogy, Fine Arts Pedagogy, Physical Education, Sports Coaching, the entry threshold is applied one of the following criteria:
Students in grade 12 have achieved good grades or average scores in general secondary education in Vietnam of 6.5 or higher.
Graduated from high school in Vietnam with good grades, or grade 12 with average grades and 5 years of work experience in accordance with training expertise.
Graduated from intermediate level, college level, university level or higher.
- For those who have won or graduated from the teacher training majors before May 7, 2020 if they are enrolled in university to reach the standard level as prescribed in Article 72 of the Education Law 2019, the entry threshold shall be set by the training institutions in Vietnam .
- For those who have won or graduated from the teacher training majors before May 7, 2020 if they are enrolled in university to reach the standard level as prescribed in Article 72 of the Education Law 2019, the entry threshold shall be set by the training institutions in Vietnam .
For entry thresholds for teacher training and health sectors with practice certificates, the entry thresholds determined by the training institutions must not be lower than those prescribed in Clauses 1, 2 and 5, Article 9 of this Regulation.
