1. Apprenticeship regime for excellent students and young scientists after being recruited in Vietnam

The probationary regime for excellent students and young scientists after being recruited, according to Article 10 of Decree 140/2017/ND-CP, is as follows:

- After being recruited, excellent graduates and young scientists must serve a probationary period of at least 3 months and no more than 12 months, except in cases where you have spent 12 months or more performing expertise and operations in accordance with the requirements of the position being recruited.

- The specific probationary period is decided by the head of the agency with recruitment authority.

- During the probationary period, excellent graduates and young scientific staff are entitled to 100% of the increased salary and allowances specified in Article 11 of Decree 140/2017/ND-CP.

- Heads of agencies, organizations, and units employing excellent graduates and young scientists evaluate the political and ethical qualities and work results of the interns.

In case the probationer meets the requirements of the civil servant rank or professional position of a probationary public employee, there is a written request to the agency, organization, or unit managing civil servants and public employees to issue decisions on appointment and salary arrangements for recruited civil servants and public employees.

2. Standards for excellent students and young scientists in Vietnam

According to Article 2 of Decree 140/2017/ND-CP, standards for excellent students and young scientists are as follows:

- Excellent university graduates from domestic or foreign higher education institutions are recognized as equivalent in terms of diplomas and certificates according to the provisions of the law, have excellent study and training results during the years of university study, be of the age specified in Article 1 of the Youth Law at the time of submitting the application, and meet one of the following criteria:

+ Won individual third prize or higher in one of the exams to select excellent students at the provincial level; won consolation prize or higher in the exams to select excellent students at the national level;

Or Certificate of Merit or higher in exams to select international excellent students in one of the natural sciences (math, physics, chemistry, biology, information technology) or social sciences (literature, history, geography, or foreign languages) during high school education;

+ Won third or higher individual prizes at national or international science and technology competitions while studying at the high school or university level;

+ Won third or higher individual prizes at the Olympic competition in one of the subjects: mathematics, physics, chemistry, mechanics, information technology, or other majors while studying at a university level recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training.

- People with master's degrees, level I specialist doctors, resident doctors, or level I specialist pharmacists specializing in medicine or pharmacy must be within the age specified in Article 1 of the Youth Law as of the time of submitting the application and meet the following criteria:

+ Meeting the standards specified in Point a, Point b, or Point c of Clause 1 of Article 2 of Decree 140/2017/ND-CP;

+ Having graduated from a university with good grades or higher and have a post-graduate major in the same field of training at the undergraduate level.

- People with doctoral degrees, level II specialist doctors, and level II specialist pharmacists specializing in medicine or pharmacy within the age group according to the provisions of Article 23 of Decree 40/2014/ND-CP up to the time of submitting the application and fully meeting the standards specified in Points a and b, Clause 2, Article 2 of Decree 140/2017/ND-CP.
