- Recently, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree 12/ND-CP in 2008 to adjust the administrative boundaries of communes, establish communes belonging to Thot Not District, Vinh Thanh District, and Co Do District; establish Thot Not District and its subordinate wards; adjust the administrative boundaries of Co Do District to establish Thoi Lai District in Can Tho City.
