1. Latest form of residence information verification in Vietnam
The latest form of confirmation of residence information is specified in Circular 56/2021/TT-BCA which provides for forms in registration and residence management issued by the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam.

Confirmation of residence information is used to confirm information about time, location, form of residence registration, and other contents of individuals and households upon request (symbol CT07).
2. Residence information verification in Vietnam
According to Article 17 of Circular 55/2021/TT-BCA, citizens wishing to have their residence information verified may visit registration authorities across the country regardless of their places of residence to request such verification or send a request for residence information verification via the national public service portal, public service portal of the Ministry of Public Security or public service portal for residence management.
Residence information that may be verified includes residence registration time, location and type
Residence information verification shall be valid for 06 months starting from the date on which the verification is made for the cases mentioned in Clause 1 Article 19 of the Residence Law if residence declaration is verified and valid for 30 days starting from the date on which the verification is made if residence information is verified.
In case residence information of a citizen has changed and the change is updated to the residence database, residence information verification shall become invalid from the time of such change.
3. Time limit for confirmation of residency information in Vietnam
According to Clause 3, Article 17 of Circular 55/2021/TT-BCA, within 03 working days, the registration authority shall verify residence information in writing (with signature and stamp of head of the registration authority) or via electronic documents (with digital signature of head of the registration authority) at the request of the citizen.
In case a piece of information on an individual or a household needing to be verified is not yet updated to the residence database, the registration authority shall provide the citizen with instructions on revision of residence information in the residence database according to regulations in Article 26 of the Residence Law.

Revision of residence information in residence database according to Article 26 of the Law on Residence provides as follows: - Residence information of a citizen shall be revised in the following cases: + Change of household head; + Change to information on their civil status, which is recorded in the residence database; + Change to the address of their place of residence recorded in the residence database due to change to administrative unit boundaries, administrative unit name, name of their street, neighborhood, village, commune or hamlet, or house number. - Application for revision of residence information for the cases in Points a and b Clause 1 of this Article includes: + Declaration of change to residence information; + Written proof of the change. - Procedure for revision of residence information: + For the case in Point a Clause 1 herein, a household member shall submit an application containing the documents mentioned in Clause 2 herein to the registration authority. Within 03 working days starting from the date of receipt of an adequate and valid application, the registration authority shall revise information on the household head in the residence database and notify the applicant of such revision; and provide a written explanation for the applicant if the application rejected; + For the case in Point b Clause 1 herein, within 30 days starting from the date of issuance of a decision on change to civil status information by the competent authority, the person subject to such change shall submit an application for revision of relevant information in the residence database containing the documents mentioned in Clause 2 herein to the registration authority. Within 03 working days starting from the date of receipt of an adequate and valid application, the registration authority shall revise civil status information in the residence database and notify the applicant of such revision; and provide a written explanation for the applicant if the application rejected; + For the case in Point c Clause 1 herein, registration authorities shall revise the information in the residence database. |
