Regarding this matter, LawNet would like to answer as follows:

Military service is a noble obligation of citizens serving in the People's Army. Performing military service includes active service and reserve service in the People's Army. According to current regulations, female citizens are not called to enlist at the same age as male citizens. However, if you volunteer and the military has a need, you are allowed to serve on active duty if you meet the following conditions:

Firstly, according to Articles 6 and 12 of the Military Service Law 2015, female citizens 18 years old up to 25 years old in peacetime are allowed to serve on active duty if they volunteer and the military has a need. Because you have not provided clear information, Lawnet does not know if you are 18 years old or not. Hence, you need to base on your date of birth to know if you meet this condition.

Secondly, based on Article 4 of Circular 148/2018/TT-BQP, you must meet the requirements for political standards, health standards, and educational standards in Vietnam as follows:

Political standards:

- Have a steadfast political spirit, absolutely loyal to the Communist Party, the State, and the People;

- Have the ability and responsibility to complete the given tasks, ready to fight and sacrifice to protect the Communist Party, the State, the People, and socialist policies, territorial integrity, and national security;

- Have a strict sense of organization and discipline, high revolutionary vigilance, maintain and protect military and state secrets;

- For key and secret agencies, units, and positions in the Army; Honor Guard forces, Ceremonial forces; professional Military Police, selection is based on the Ministry of National Defense's regulations.

Health standards:

- Select citizens with health categories 1, 2, 3 according to the regulations in Inter-Ministerial Circular 16/2016/TTLT-BYT-BQP on health examination for military service;

- For agencies, units, and positions specified in Point b, Clause 2 of this Article, selection must ensure specific standards as required by the Ministry of National Defense;

- Citizens with health issues such as category 3 for eye refractive errors (myopia of 1.5 diopters or more, hyperopia of all degrees); drug addicts, HIV, AIDS patients are not called to enlist in the Army.

Educational standards:

- Select and call to enlist citizens with grade 8 education level or higher, selected from high to low scores. Localities with difficulties in meeting the military quota will report to the competent authorities to consider selecting citizens with a grade 7 education level;

- Deeply remote, disadvantaged areas as defined by law; ethnic minorities with populations under 10,000 people can select no more than 25% of citizens with primary education levels, the rest must be secondary school level or higher.

Thirdly, according to Clause 2, Article 7 of the Military Service Law, female citizens within the age for military service with specialized occupations and professions suitable for the People's Army requirements are as follows:

- Master's and doctoral degrees: Foreign languages and cultures, Journalism and Communication, Office Administration, finance, accounting, law, computer science and information technology, electrical engineering, electronics and telecommunications, medicine, pharmacy.

- College and university degrees: Teacher training, Performing arts, Audio-visual arts, Foreign languages and cultures, Office Administration - Archives - Museums, finance, accounting, law, computer science and information technology, technical technology, medicine, pharmacy.

- Intermediate education: Computer science and information technology, Technical technology, finance - accounting, medicine, pharmacy, Office Administration - Archives - Museums, Performing arts, Audio-visual arts, aviation.

For detailed information on the specialized sectors, please refer to Article 3 of Decree 14/2016/ND-CP.

Thus, according to the above regulations, it is unlikely that you will be selected to participate in military service. However, you can also submit an application to the Military Command Board to be considered for this matter.
