Circular 01/2017/TT-TANDTC was issued by the Supreme People's Court on July 28, 2017, listing specific principles to be adhered to when arranging a courtroom.
Accordingly, Circular 01 stipulates the following principles when arranging courtrooms:
- The courtroom must be arranged solemnly, ensuring security and order during the trial.- The arrangement of the courtroom must reflect the position and central role of the Trial Council; ensure equality before the Court; ensure the principles of adversarial proceedings in trials; ensure the defendant’s right to defense, and the right to protect the legal rights and interests of the parties involved.- The arrangement of the courtroom must be suitable to the trial requirements of each type of case to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the Court's trials.- For cases under the jurisdiction of the Family and Juvenile Court, the courtroom must be arranged in a friendly manner, ensuring the best interests of individuals under 18 years old.
