Working Hours and Annual Leave of Teachers Instructing at the Primary Vocational Education Level

Circular 40/2015/TT-BLDTBXH stipulates the standards concerning professional qualifications, expertise, and working policies for teachers instructing at the primary vocational training level, issued by the Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs on October 20, 2015.

To be specific, in Article 11 of Circular 40/2015/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating the working time and annual leave time for teachers at the elementary level as follows:

1. The working time for teachers at the elementary level is 46 weeks per school year according to the policies of a 40-hour workweek, in which:

- Conducting teaching and educating students: 42 weeks;- Studying, standardizing, enhancing training; observing classes, exchanging teaching experiences; practicing at enterprises, participating in professional activities: 04 weeks.

In case the teachers do not fully utilize the time for studying, standardizing, enhancing training; observing classes, exchanging teaching experiences; practicing at enterprises, participating in professional activities as regulated, the Head of the vocational education institution shall convert the remaining time to teaching or performing other assigned tasks.

2. The annual leave time for teachers is 6 weeks; for public employees in management with teaching duties stipulated in Clause 2, Article 12 of this Circular is 5 weeks, including: summer vacation, Tet holiday, national holidays, in which:

- Summer vacation replaces the annual leave, with full salary and allowances (if any);- Other leave policies are implemented according to current laws.

Based on the school year plan and specific conditions of each vocational education institution, the head of the vocational education institution arranges for teachers to take leave at appropriate times.
