Employees performing special nature work in the field of offshore oil and gas exploration and exploitation are allowed to work overtime in special cases. Specifically, special cases include: executing mobilization orders, mobilization to ensure national defense and security tasks in an urgent condition of national defense and security; conducting work to protect human life, property, and the environment surrounding oil and gas infrastructure in the prevention and remediation of natural disasters, fires, epidemics, and disasters.
In special cases, the employer has the right to require employees to work overtime on any day, without counting it against the limit of overtime hours per day and the number of working days in the cycle as stipulated in Clauses 2 and 3, Article 6 of Circular 24/2015/TT-BCT:
Article 6. Overtime Work

2. The total working hours and overtime hours of employees shall not exceed 14 hours per day.
3. The overtime hours of employees shall not exceed 50 hours per cycle and in any case shall not exceed 300 hours per year.
Furthermore, the employer must pay wages and other policies regarding overtime for employees.
