Which Individuals Are Eligible for the People's Teacher/Meritorious Teacher Title?

Decree No. 27/2015/ND-CP stipulates the individuals eligible for the awarding of the titles "People's Teacher" and "Excellent Teacher" as follows:

- Teachers and education management officials, including:

- Teachers and lecturers (hereinafter collectively referred to as teachers) directly engaged in nurturing, teaching in preschools, general education institutions, vocational education institutions, higher education institutions, continuing education institutions, schools, and other educational institutions as stipulated in Articles 49, 61, 62, 63, 64, and 69 of the Law on Amending and Supplementing a Number of Articles of the Education Law (hereinafter collectively referred to as educational institutions);- Heads, deputy heads of the educational institutions as specified in Point a, Clause 1 of this Article; public employees engaged in management tasks at departments, offices, institutes, centers (without training functions), offices under higher education institutions, vocational education institutions; officials of the Department of Education and Training, Department of Education and Training, Ministry of Education and Training; officials specialized in vocational management of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs; officials specialized in education management in ministries, ministry-level agencies, agencies under the Government of Vietnam (hereinafter collectively referred to as Ministries); teachers, education management officials assigned or appointed as education union officials (hereinafter collectively referred to as education management officials);- Teachers and education management officials who have retired under social insurance benefits between two consecutive award consideration periods and the award consideration year;- Teachers and education management officials who have retired under social insurance benefits and continue to teach or manage on a contract basis at non-public educational institutions.

- Organizations and individuals related to the award consideration activities for the titles "People's Teacher" and "Excellent Teacher".
