Which Documents Are Not Required to Be Consular Legalized When Certifying Copies?

This is the notable content stipulated in Circular 20/2015/TT-BTP, detailing and guiding the implementation of several articles of Decree 23/2015/ND-CP on issuing copies from originals, certifying copies from originals, certifying signatures, and certifying contracts and transactions.

According to the provisions of Circular 20/2015/TT-BTP, the following documents are not required to be consular legalized when certifying copies from the originals:

- Personal identification documents issued by competent foreign authorities to individuals such as: passport, identity card or other documents like permanent residence card, residence card, driver's license, diploma, certificates and transcripts attached to the diploma, certificates.- In case of requesting notarization of the translator's signature on the translation of these documents, consular legalization is also not required.
