When to Terminate Opioid Addiction Treatment?

This is a notable provision outlined in Decree 90/2016/ND-CP regulating the treatment of opioid addiction with substitution medications.

Individuals who are currently participating in opioid addiction treatment may terminate their treatment upon expressing a desire to discontinue participation in opioid addiction treatment.

According to Decree 90/2016/ND-CP, individuals who are currently participating in opioid addiction treatment will have their treatment terminated if they violate any of the following regulations:

- Failure to comply with professional procedures for opioid addiction treatment 2 or more times within 6 months;- Testing positive for opioids consecutively 2 or more times within 12 months after reaching the maintenance dose;- Testing positive for other drugs besides opioids;- Engaging in acts that damage the property of individuals or organizations; property, health, honor, and dignity of citizens or foreigners; breaching public order and safety.
