When to Conduct Developmental Assessments for Children by Stages?

Circular 28/2016/TT-BGDDT was signed and promulgated by the Ministry of Education and Training to amend and supplement certain contents of the Preschool Education Program issued together with Circular 17/2009/TT-BGDDT.

According to the provisions of Circular 28/2016/TT-BGDDT, the assessment of a child’s development by stage is conducted at specific times based on the following criteria:

- End-of-age assessments (6, 12, 18, 24, 36 months) based on expected outcomes.- Assessment of the child's physical development level requires the use of additional weight and height indicators at the end-of-age.

Additionally, the assessment can utilize one or a combination of the following methods:

- Observation.- Conversation, communication with the child.- Analysis of the child’s activity products.- Use of situational exercises.- Discussion with parents/caregivers.

Note: Assessment results are kept by teachers in the child's personal records.
