What Should State Agencies Do to Ensure the Quality of Clean Water?

On December 14, 2018, the Ministry of Health promulgated Circular 41/2018/TT-BYT to specifically stipulate the tasks that competent state agencies must perform to ensure the quality of clean water.

Accordingly, Circular 41 stipulates that the competent state authorities must inspect (external verification) the implementation of regulations on ensuring the quality of clean water by the water supply unit as follows:

- Inspect the implementation of the testing of clean water quality parameters by the water supply unit; records for monitoring and managing clean water quality; publicly disclose information on clean water quality.- Take samples and test the parameters of clean water quality.- Within 5 days from the date of obtaining the results of the external verification of clean water quality, the agency conducting the external verification shall notify in writing the water supply unit that has been externally verified; publicly disclose on the electronic information portal of the agency conducting the external verification; notify the authority responsible for choosing the water supply unit and the managing authority of the water supply unit that has been externally verified (if any) about the external verification results including the following information:

- Name of the unit inspected.

- Inspection results of the content.
