According to the regulations issued with Circular 21/2019/TT-BLDTBXH, the profession "Solar Energy System Engineering Technology" focuses mainly on calculating, designing, installing, and maintaining solar electrical equipment and heat collectors; operating solar power plants; producing and trading solar electrical equipment and heat collectors to meet the requirement of level 5 in the Vietnamese National Qualifications Framework. Currently, solar energy has been widely applied since it is a green and clean energy source. This energy can be converted into electrical or thermal energy suitable for use. The trend of developing the renewable energy industry (Solar electricity and heat systems using solar energy) globally and in Vietnam will gradually replace traditional energy sources (Nuclear, Thermal power, Hydropower, etc.).

The profession "Solar Energy System Engineering Technology" requires workers to have knowledge and skills from basic to advanced in the installation process as regulated, as well as knowledge and skills in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting in power systems and transformer stations, knowledge of electrical safety, thermal safety, understanding the dangers and risks in the job, predicting and solving unusual situations and problems with electrical and thermal equipment.

After graduating with an associate degree in "Solar Energy System Engineering Technology," learners can work in the following positions: Designing solar electrical systems; Designing heat collecting systems; Installing solar electrical systems; Installing solar electrical systems; Operating solar power plants; Maintaining and repairing solar power systems; Maintaining and repairing heat collecting systems; Trading solar energy equipment.

Additionally, learners can explore and research in a working environment to improve their qualification, professional knowledge, skills in organizing professional activities, meeting the labor market's demands, and continuing studies at a higher level to perfect knowledge, skills, and develop capacity and thinking, meeting personal and societal development needs in Vietnam.
