According to Circular 06/2011/TT-BYT, the guidelines for labeling cosmetics in Vietnam are as follows:
The cosmetic label must be affixed to the goods, the commercial packaging of the goods in a position where the contents of the label can be easily and fully recognized without having to detach any parts of the goods.
In case the outer packaging cannot be opened, the outer packaging must have a label, and the label must present all mandatory contents.
Organizations and individuals responsible for releasing cosmetic products to the market determine the size of the cosmetic product label, ensuring the information on the label is easily readable with the naked eye. The content of the main label and auxiliary label (if any) must be truthful, clear, accurate, and reflect the true features of the product.
The color of the letters, numbers, drawings, images, signs, and symbols displayed on the cosmetic label must be clear. The color of the letters and numbers must contrast with the background of the label.
The contents stipulated in Article 18 of this Circular must be presented in English or Vietnamese; particularly the information specified at points b, d, i, clause 1, Article 18, must be written in Vietnamese.
Organizations and individuals are permitted to include additional contents on the cosmetic label. The additional contents must not violate legal regulations and must be honest, accurate, reflective of the true nature of the goods, and not obscure or distort the mandatory contents on the cosmetic label.
