Circular 56/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulates that the aviation security awareness program in college level is a field or occupation that uses a combination of measures, human resources, equipment, and devices to prevent, deter, and respond to unlawful interference in civil aviation operations. This program ensures the safety of aircraft, passengers, crews, and people on the ground, meeting level 5 requirements in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.
The Aviation Security Inspection profession is carried out by the aviation security force, which is a specialized force ensuring aviation security. They are responsible for advising, managing, supervising, and directly implementing aviation security inspection, control, and screening measures.
Aviation security inspection is an international profession; therefore, practitioners must comply with all requirements and regulations of Vietnamese law and adhere to the standards and recommended practices of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Graduates of the aviation security awareness program in college level work in security screening, security control, and mobile security positions. The main tasks of the profession are typically performed at locations including airports, airfields; on aircraft (on the ground); air navigation service providers; aircraft manufacturing, maintenance, and repair facilities; aviation service providers at airports; and air cargo and mail processing facilities.
The main duties of the profession include inspecting, screening, and monitoring aviation security for aircraft, vehicles, persons, luggage, cargo, and activities entering, exiting, and operating in restricted areas as specified; searching aircraft, vehicles, persons, luggage, and cargo when there are signs of aviation security threats; eliminating the possibility of illegally transporting dangerous items by air; applying special preventive measures when allowing the carriage of dangerous items or potential aviation security threats.
The aviation security inspection profession is equipped with and uses weapons, support tools, uniforms, badges, insignia, equipment, and vehicles to perform tasks in accordance with the law.
Minimum instructional hours: 2,145 hours (equivalent to 90 credits).
