Certificate of Quality (C/Q) is a proof to demonstrate the seller's commitment to the product quality to the buyer.
C/Q in English is called a certificate of quality, which is a certification that goods meet the quality standards of the country of production or international standards.
C/Q is not a mandatory document in customs documentation. However, for certain imported goods that require quality inspection, the importing organization or individual must submit the C/Q in the registration dossier.
The purpose of the C/Q is to demonstrate that the goods meet the quality standards associated with the goods.
For example: When a company exports rice to another company abroad, the sales contract often stipulates criteria such as rice moisture content, number of broken grains, etc. In this case, a competent, specialized agency will inspect the rice sample before transportation and issue a "quality certificate" for these goods, which is the C/Q.
The issuance of the certificate of quality or C/Q is based on specific standards, such as ISO 9001, ISO 14000, etc., and the enterprise will develop and apply the standards themselves, and request a competent and reputable evaluation organization to issue the certificate.
