What is a Socio-Political Organization?

Political - Social Organizations are voluntary organizations organized and operate on the principle of democratic centralism, having a system of organization from central to local levels. These social organizations have operational charters approved by the general conference or the conference of member representatives. They include:

- Vietnam Fatherland Front:- This is a political alliance - a voluntary union organization of people's associations and outstanding individuals of classes, social strata, ethnicities, and religions;- It represents the will of great national unity and the legitimate aspirations of the people;- It gathers the intellectuals of patriotic Vietnamese people, uniting actions among member organizations, cooperates with the government to implement democracy, cares for and protects the legitimate interests of different classes of people;- Supervises, protects, and participates in building the state and managing society.- The Vietnam Fatherland Front is established according to a democratic election mechanism, decentralized to operate nationwide.

- Vietnam General Confederation of Labor:- This is a broad political - social organization of the working class, intellectuals, and voluntary laborers;- The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has the characteristics of the working class, with the function of representing and protecting the legal and legitimate rights and interests of workers, public employees; participating in state management, economic - social management, monitoring the activities of state agencies, economic organizations; educating, motivating workers, public employees, and laborers to uphold the mastership of the country, fulfill civic duties, and build and protect the homeland.

- Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union:- This is a political - social organization for youths, gathering elite youths, and the reserve force of the Communist Party.- The Union is established nationwide, present in most agencies, units, organizations from central to local levels to attract the younger generation into beneficial, healthy social activities, thereby educating the awareness of respecting the law among union members.- The Union also trains public employees and cadres with quality for state apparatus or hold important positions in political - social organizations, such as the Party and trade union.

- Vietnam Women's Union:- This is a political - social organization for women, functioning to represent equal rights, democracy, and the legitimate and legal interests of women, participating in state management and building the Communist Party.- The Union unites, mobilizes, organizes, and leads women to implement the policies of the Communist Party and state laws, contributing to building and protecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

- Vietnam Farmers' Union:- This is a political - social organization of the peasantry led by the Communist Party of Vietnam and a member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the political base of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.- It is established to motivate and organize the laboring farmers across the country to actively participate in production and instill patriotism. Additionally, the union protects the legitimate rights and interests, and reflects the sentiments and aspirations of the Vietnamese peasantry, the largest segment of the population.

- Vietnam Veterans Association:- This is a political - social association, a member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the political base of the people's government, part of the political system led by the Communist Party of Vietnam, operating following the Party's guidelines, policies, the Constitution, state laws, and the Charter of the Association.- The purpose of the Association is to gather, unite, organize, and motivate generations of veterans to preserve and promote the essence and tradition of the "Uncle Ho’s Soldiers," actively participating in building and protecting the homeland, protecting revolutionary achievements, building and defending the Communist Party, government, policies, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of veterans, and helping each other spiritually and materially in life, bonding combat friendships.
