What documents are needed when registering to conduct a research project?

According to the provisions of the current law, the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development considers funding basic research projects proposed by scientific and technological organizations and individual scientists that comply with the basic research directions published by the Foundation. These include:

- Exploratory and discovery-oriented projects;- Projects aimed at developing research directions that have achieved initial results and in-depth studies already conducted in Vietnam.

Circular 37/2014/TT-BKHCN stipulates that every year, the Foundation announces the basic research directions funded by the Foundation and provides guidance on the relevant conditions, procedures, and deadlines for submission of applications on the Foundation's electronic information portal. Based on the Foundation's announcements, organizations and individual scientists propose projects, prepare Project Registration Dossiers, and submit them to the Foundation as regulated.

To be specific, the Project Registration Dossier in both Vietnamese and English includes:

- Basic research project registration form;- Project outline for basic research;- Scientific resume of the project leader and each member of the research team, along with documents proving research achievements;- Documents proving the training of Ph.D. students;- Dossier declaration form;- Other related documents as requested by the Foundation.

Note: A valid dossier is one that is prepared according to the templates attached with Circular 37; confirmed by the working institution, host, or sponsoring organization; and submitted within the timeframe announced by the Foundation.
