Conditions and standards to become an inspector:
Professional qualification: Graduated from a university in the field of Automotive Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, with the following subjects included in the curriculum (or additional credits trained at universities): automotive theory, automotive structure, automotive design calculations, automotive technical maintenance, internal combustion engines, and automotive electricity.
English proficiency: at least level A or equivalent.
Participation in the Vehicle Inspection Professional Training class organized by the Registry Department of Vietnam and awarded a Certificate of Completion of the Vehicle Inspection Professional Training class.
Work experience: Have at least 02 years of direct work according to the training field specified in Clause 1 of this Article at repair, maintenance, production, and assembly facilities for automobiles (with business registration according to the law) or have at least 06 months of internship at a vehicle inspection center.
Recognized and issued a Motor Vehicle Inspector Certificate by the Director of the Registry Department of Vietnam according to the form prescribed in Appendix 1 issued with this Circular.
These conditions are specifically prescribed in Circular 72/2014/TT-BGTVT.
