What are the duties of main lecturers (class II) in public higher education institutions in Vietnam?

According to Article 6 of the Circular No. 40/2020/TT-BGDĐT of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, duties of main lecturers (class II) - Code: V.07.01.02 in public higher education institutions include:

- Teaching, guiding and grading projects and graduation theses; participating in teaching master's and doctoral-level training programs, guiding and evaluating master's and doctoral theses if they meet the prescribed criteria;

- Presiding over or participating in the formulation and development of training programs; propose guidelines, directions and measures for the development of the assigned sector or major; proactively propose solutions to improve teaching quality, methods of testing and evaluating learners' learning and training results;

- Presiding over or participating in compiling training books; assume the prime responsibility for or participate in the performance of scientific and technological tasks;

- Presiding over or participating in the evaluation of scientific research projects and topics; write and participate in scientific reports at scientific conferences and seminars; participating in international cooperation activities and ensuring the quality of higher education;

- Participating in the work of class leaders, academic advisors; guiding discussion, practice, experiment, internship;

- Participating in the training of lecturers according to the professional development requirements of the faculty or major;

- Studying and fostering to raise the level of political theory, expertise, profession and teaching methods; participating in practical activities to improve the quality of training and scientific research;

- Participating in the management and work of the Party and mass organizations and performing other tasks in accordance with the organization and operation regulations of the public higher education institution and other relevant laws.
