What are regulations on marine equipment standards for ships with VR-SB class engines in Vietnam?

Circular 39/2018/TT-BGTVT was issued by the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam on the National Technical Regulation on the Classification and Construction of Inland Waterway Vessels (2nd amended) in 2018 QCVN 72:2013/BGTVT.

According to the new regulations, VR-SB class motor vessels will be equipped with maritime equipment in Vietnam at the following levels:

4 Maritime binoculars 1 piece
5 Inclinometer 1 piece

7 Depth sounding device 1 piece
8 Water gauge 2 pieces
9 Protractor, parallel ruler (**) 1 set
10 Compass (**) 2 pieces
11 Magnifying glass 2 pieces
12 List of lighthouses and shore radio stations (**) 1 booklet
13 Nautical charts and paralleler (**) 1 set
14 Tide tables for the sailing area (**) 1 book

Notes:

- (*) Passenger ships with L < 30 m and other ships operating on fixed routes from shore to island or between islands with a distance not exceeding 15 km, may replace with a compass specialized for lifeboats and may be exempted from equipment by the Register. Ships with GT ≥ 3000 must be equipped with a standard magnetic compass.

- (**) Passenger ships with L < 30 m and other ships operating on fixed routes from shore to island or between islands with a distance not exceeding 15 km may be exempted from equipment by the Register.
