Recently, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree 82/2007/ND-CP regulating the provision of information for the formulation and management of national monetary policy.

Decree 82/2007/ND-CP specifically stipulates the principles and methods of providing information for the construction and operation of national monetary policy in Vietnam as follows:
1. Principles of providing information in Vietnam
Ministries, organizations (hereinafter collectively referred to as organizations), and individuals providing information to the State Bank of Vietnam must ensure the following principles:
- Ensure honesty, objectivity, accuracy, completeness, promptness, and adherence to the prescribed deadlines.
- Consistency in indicators, templates, calculation methods, units of measurement, statistical periods, and reporting methods of information provision.
- No duplication or overlapping of provided indicators.
- Do not provide false information that hinders the construction and operation of national monetary policy.
2. Methods of providing information in Vietnam:
- For information not on the list of State secrets, organizations and individuals provide it to the State Bank of Vietnam in written form, fax, or electronic data on information carriers transmitted through computer networks.
- For information on the list of State secrets, organizations provide it to the State Bank of Vietnam according to the provisions of the law on the protection of State secrets.
