Recently, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs in Vietnam issued Circular 21/2019/TT-BLDTBXH which stipulates the minimum volume of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation at the intermediate and college levels for disciplines and professions in the fields of computers, information technology, and technical technology.

What are graduation requirements for major in solar energy system technology engineering at college level in Vietnam? (Illustrative image)

According to the regulations issued in Circular 21/2019/TT-BLDTBXH, the minimum knowledge that a student must attain after graduating in solar energy system technology engineering in Vietnam is as follows:

- Describe the process of designing solar energy panel systems and thermal absorption systems;

- Present the structure, working principles, and operational characteristics of equipment in solar power systems and thermal collection systems;

- Describe the installation sequence of equipment in solar power systems and thermal collection systems accurately and ensure safety;

- Comply with the procedures for receiving and transmitting operational and maintenance work orders in solar power systems and thermal collection systems;

- Present the structure, working principles, and operational characteristics of equipment in solar power systems and thermal collection systems;

- Select appropriate tools, equipment, materials for the operation, and maintenance of devices in solar power systems and thermal collection systems;

- Describe the safety tools and measures required for the operation and maintenance of solar power systems and thermal collection systems;

- Identify the necessary working conditions and safety requirements for equipment during the operation and maintenance of solar power systems and thermal collection systems;

- Identify regulations and procedures for the operation and maintenance of live and non-live electrical parts in solar power systems and thermal collection systems;

- Present the technical methods, techniques, and standards for the operation and maintenance of equipment in solar power systems and thermal collection systems;

- Describe the network structures, network designs, assembly, and installation of solar energy networks and thermal collection pipelines;

- Select the appropriate method for using electrical tools and equipment in solar power systems and thermal collection systems;

- Explain the purposes and methods of using various safety devices, tools for measuring and inspecting equipment in solar power systems and thermal collection systems;

- Interpret the insulation structures and responsibilities of equipment in solar power systems and thermal collection systems;

- Present methods for providing first aid to individuals suffering from workplace injuries;

- Present basic knowledge about politics, culture, society, law, national defense, and security, physical education as required; Basic knowledge of foreign languages (level 2/6 of the Vietnam's foreign language competency framework) and information technology applicable to work.

Additionally, students must achieve the following skills:

- Develop calculation plans for designing solar energy systems: solar power plants, rooftop solar panels, thermal collection systems;

- Create plans for installing solar energy systems: solar power plants, rooftop solar panels, thermal collection systems;

- Prepare appropriate and sufficient tools and safety measures for the installation of components in solar power systems and thermal collection systems;

- Develop procedures for receiving and transmitting operational and maintenance work orders in solar power systems and thermal collection systems;

- Prepare appropriate and sufficient tools, equipment, and materials for the operation and inspection of maintenance of components in solar power systems and thermal collection systems;

- Organize work within solar power plants;

- Diagnose potential failures during the operation and inspection of maintenance on site in solar power systems and thermal collection systems;

- Utilize electrical tools and equipment effectively during operation and maintenance;

- Calculate safety measures and suitable equipment for working positions and inspection sites during the operation and maintenance of components in solar power systems and thermal collection systems;

- Prepare procedures and documentation for testing solar power systems and thermal collection systems;

- Assess the degree of damage to components in solar power systems and thermal collection systems;

- Select and use appropriate measuring, maintenance, repair, and replacement tools for components in solar power systems;

- Apply the latest regulations from EVN regarding electrical systems;

- Provide first aid to individuals suffering from workplace injuries;

- Diagnose electrical hazards;

- Utilize basic information technology as required, and apply information technology in various professional tasks within the industry;

- Utilize basic foreign language skills, achieving level 2/6 in Vietnam's foreign language competency framework, and apply foreign languages in various professional tasks within the industry.

Upon graduation, students must be capable of organizing teamwork, being creative, applying high-tech scientific techniques, resolving complex production and business situations, maintaining an industrial working style, strictly adhering to procedures and labor discipline; taking responsibility for the outcomes of both individual and group tasks; resolving tasks and issues in changing working conditions; guiding and supervising subordinates in accomplishing defined tasks; evaluating the quality of products based on group performance outcomes.
