Decree 82/2007/ND-CP specifies the responsibilities of the State Bank of Vietnam in providing information to serve the formulation and management of national monetary policy as follows:

Organize the receipt of information provided by organizations and individuals to construct the monetary balance sheet of the financial institution sector, evaluate, and forecast economic and monetary market trends;
Use, store, provide, and publish information in accordance with the laws on state secret protection, statistical laws, and other related laws;
Organize surveys, compile, and handle the results of periodic annual or ad-hoc monetary statistics investigations;
Set technical standards and methods for exchanging information via computer networks;
Guide the provision of information according to the Appendices issued with this Decree based on unanimity with relevant Ministries and other organizations;
Provide monetary information and other aggregated information as specifically requested by related Ministries.

Furthermore, the State Bank of Vietnam is responsible for urging, inspecting, and reporting to the Government of Vietnam on the implementation of information provision by organizations as stipulated in this Decree.
