The summer vacation period for teachers at various levels of general education is 02 months. This is a relatively long vacation, and according to legal regulations, teachers are still entitled to full salary and allowances during this period (if any).
To be specific, according to the regulations in Clause 3, Article 5 of Circular 28/2008/TT-BGDDT, the summer vacation period for teachers substitutes for their annual leave, and teachers are still entitled to full salary and allowances.
The allowances that teachers may receive during the summer vacation include:
1. Seniority Allowance
Teachers with a teaching and education period qualifying for seniority allowance of 5 years (60 months) will receive a seniority allowance of 5% of the current salary plus leadership position allowance and excess seniority allowance (if any); from the sixth year onward, each additional year (full 12 months) will be entitled to an additional 1%.
Formula for calculating monthly seniority allowance:
Seniority allowance amount = (Salary coefficient by grade, step + Leadership position allowance coefficient + Excess seniority allowance (if any)) x Statutory pay rate x Seniority allowance percentage |
This content is based on Joint Circular 68/2011/TTLT-BGDDT-BNV-BTC-BLDTBXH and Joint Circular 29/2015/TTLT-BGDDT-BNV-BTC-BLDTBXH.
2. Preferential Allowance
The preferential allowance rate will vary for each subject (from 25% to 50%) as specifically stipulated in Subsection 1, Section II of Joint Circular 01/2006/TTLT-BGD&DT-BNV-BTC.
Formula for calculating monthly preferential allowance:
Preferential allowance amount = Statutory pay rate x [salary coefficient by grade, step currently enjoyed + leadership position allowance coefficient (if any) + % (converted to coefficient) excess seniority allowance (if any)] x Preferential allowance rate. |
