Volume of Knowledge for graduates of Control Engineering and Automation in Vietnam (Level 5 of VQF)

Circular 45/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulates that the field of Control Engineering and Automation at college level is a field of expertise focused on research, development, operation, maintenance, and repair of control systems and the automation of production processes/machines in enterprises, meeting Level 5 requirements in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework. Learners of the field of Control Engineering and Automation need to meet the following knowledge volumes at the college level:

- Explain the operating principles of automatic control circuits, basic electronic circuits;

- Describe electrical drive systems in medium and small industries, automated production lines in industries;

- Describe pneumatic control systems, hydraulic control systems;

- Explain automatic control systems, SCADA, industrial communication networks;

- Describe programming methods for PLC and microcontroller applications;

- Explain the functions and applications of sensors, measuring and control devices;

- Describe the process of checking, maintaining, and calibrating automatic control systems;

- Analyze power supply systems, lighting systems, grounding; security and electrical safety systems in industries;

- Analyze the basic method of designing basic automatic control systems and intelligent control systems based on artificial intelligence;

- Analyze basic business processes of production management, technology business services;

- Explain the process of planning, organizing, implementing, supervising, checking, and evaluating work results in enterprise departments;

- Analyze basic tasks in quality management of technology business products;

- Describe the rules of labor safety and industrial hygiene;- Analyze the utilities and features of informatics for office tasks and professional activities;

- Describe basic knowledge of politics, culture, society, law, national defense security, physical education as per regulations.
