Vietnam: Working conditions in printing technology must be less harmful but require carefulness and meticulousness

This is an important content in Circular 21/2019/TT-BLDTBXH promulgating regulations on the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements for graduates from the intermediate and college levels in disciplines and professions related to computer, information technology, and technical technology in Vietnam.

Under the Regulations issued together with Circular 21/2019/TT-BLDTBXH, the printing industry in Vietnam is a special service production profession and available in most countries and developing strongly in some. The printing industry's products in Vietnam include books, newspapers, magazines, calendars, catalogs, labels, packaging, special papers, etc. The printing industry plays an important role in the social and economic life of the country. The printing industry in Vietnam not only serves socio-political activities but also is a production industry participating in the value chain of many other economic sectors, being a very developed and effective supporting industry;

Printing technology includes the following parts: Prepress technology; Printing technology on printing machines; and postpress technology to create finished products. Most of the equipment used in production is digitized and automated and is manufactured in advanced industrial countries, causing less pollution and harm to the producers and the environment;

After completing the printing technology program, learners become technicians operating specialized machinery and equipment to produce products or manage technical work at printing enterprises. Workplaces include publishing printing establishments or packaging printing;

The working conditions in printing technology in Vietnam are less harmful but require creativity, aesthetics, caution, meticulousness, precision, professionalism, and responsibility in work, and to society;

The college-level printing technology programs include Prepress technology; Press technology; and Postpress technology. Each field includes various working positions: plate making; offset printing machine operation and flexo printing machine operation; Finishing publications and Packaging label processing.
