Vietnam: Who are members of the intermediate curriculum appraisal council?

The composition of the Council for Appraisal of Intermediate Curriculum is stipulated in Circular 43/2010/TT-BGDDT Regulations on the compilation, selection, appraisal, approval, and use of professional intermediate curricula issued by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam.

Who are the members of the Appraisal Council for the Intermediate-Level Curriculum? (Illustration)

Article 10 of Circular 43/2010/TT-BGDDT of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam stipulates the composition of the Appraisal Council for Curriculum as follows:

- The Appraisal Council for Curriculum (including the appraisal of draft curriculum compiled by the school and existing curriculum; hereinafter collectively referred to as curriculum) is established by the decision of the school principal based on the proposal of the Faculty. The Council will dissolve itself after completing the assigned task.

- The number of members of the Appraisal Council for Curriculum must be an odd number and must have at least 7 members, including 01 Chairman of the Council, 01 Secretary member, 02 reviewers, and other members. The number of external members must be at least 03, including 01 reviewer.

- Participants in the Appraisal Council for Curriculum include teachers, educational management staff, experts with professional experience and curriculum compilation experience; representatives from enterprises or other units, organizations with professional activities related to the content that needs to be appraised.

- Members who have participated in the Curriculum Compilation Committee or the Curriculum Selection Committee are not allowed to participate in the Appraisal Council for any curriculum compiled or selected by members of these committees.

- Criteria for members of the Appraisal Council for Curriculum:

+ Must hold a bachelor's degree or higher in a field or major suitable for the professional content of the curriculum, with the Chairman of the Council holding a master's degree or higher;

+ Must have at least 7 years of experience in teaching or management at institutions training intermediate vocational qualifications, higher education institutions, or in professional activities related to the content of the curriculum to be appraised.
