Recently, the Ministry of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam issued Circular No. 50/2018/TT-BLDTBXH regulating the minimum knowledge requirements and competency that learners must achieve upon graduation from intermediate and college levels in the fields of mining engineering and other technical fields.
What are the professions of intermediate-level operation of oil and gas processing equipment? (Illustration)
Specifically, Circular 50/2018/TT-BLDTBXH defines the professions of intermediate-level operation of oil and gas processing equipment as one that serves the stages of processing and refining crude oil and natural gas. This includes tasks in the operation of equipment and technology available in plants, treatment stations, and processing complexes for oil and gas treatment, meeting the requirements of level 4 in the Vietnam National Occupational Skills Standards. The professionals in this field perform tasks such as operating equipment, implementing operational procedures for equipment clusters, technology units in plants; coordinating the implementation of tasks such as startup, normal operation, normal shutdown, emergency shutdown, handling incidents; ensuring labor safety, electrical safety, and industrial hygiene; resolving common operational issues; and maintaining product quality standards throughout the processing stages.
The minimum knowledge requirement for this field is 1,400 hours (equivalent to 50 credits), which includes the following knowledge:
Description of the structure, application, and operating principles of commonly encountered basic mechanical equipment such as various types of valves, pumps, compressors, thermal equipment, heating furnaces, steam turbines;
Presentation of simple system technology diagrams through process flow diagrams;
Explanation of the interrelations between operational parameters of equipment, technology, and quality criteria of products in basic physical and chemical processing systems in the oil and gas processing technology;
Presentation of basic safety requirements, labor protection, and fire prevention when working in plants;
Presentation of the applications of automation technology and basic knowledge compatible with Industry 4.0 technology in production;
Presentation of basic knowledge about politics, culture, society, law, national defense, and security, and physical education as prescribed.
