Recently, the Government of Vietnam has issued the Decree No. 90/2017/NĐ-CP on penalties for administrative violations against regulations on veterinary medicine.
Specifically, according to Article 15 of the Decree No. 90/2017/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government, fines for violations against general regulations on quarantine of imported animals and products thereof are specified as follows:
- A fine ranging from VND 5,000,000 to VND 6,000,000 shall be imposed for any of the following violations:
+ Import animals/ animal products with a quantity or amount other than those specified in the Certificate of quarantine of animals granted by the competent authority in the exporting country;
+ Import fresh (or unprepared) handed terrestrial animal products; or import fresh aquatic animal products.
- A fine ranging from VND 6,000,000 to VND 7,000,000 shall be imposed for using imported animals/ animal products for processing exports at establishments other than the registered ones.
- A fine ranging from VND 7,000,000 to VND 8,000,000 shall be imposed for any of the following violations:
+ Transport the imported animals and products thereof across the checkpoint other than the prescribed one;
+ Import animals/ animal products whose origin is different from that stated in the application for quarantine;
+ Transport imported animals and products thereof to the quarantine area other than the prescribed one or with a quantity other than the permitted one stated in the quarantine dossier;
+ Fail to comply with the prescribed period of isolation for quarantine of imported animals.
