Under Circular 40/2014/TT-BGDDT, the training program for Integrated irrigation, Level 4 of VQF in Vietnam is designed to train intermediate professional level technicians in integrated water resources; who possess professional ethics and conscience, demonstrate cooperative attitudes with colleagues, respect laws and workplace regulations, and have the health fitness necessary for work. Regarding professional competence, the learners possess sufficient knowledge and skills to seek employment and are able to self-study, research, and absorb scientific and technological advances or continue their studies at higher levels to meet the development demands of themselves, science and technology, as well as the socio-economic foundation.

The training objective is that upon completion of the training program for Integrated irrigation, Level 4 of VQF, learners will be able to meet the following three requirements:

1. Knowledge

- Explain and describe the basic parameters of water projects; the structure and construction of the main parts of systems in irrigation projects.

- Present some basic contents regarding the planning, design, and construction of medium and small irrigation projects within irrigation systems.

- Explain the principles and describe the basic procedures for the management, exploitation, operation, and maintenance of medium and small irrigation projects, ensuring water supply and drainage efficiency, economic efficiency, and environmental protection.

- Present the basic contents of production management work at small production units such as pumping stations, irrigation teams, main structure management teams, or other relevant units.

2. Skills

- Perform simple tasks in the planning, design, and construction of medium and small irrigation projects according to the proper procedures and standards under the guidance and direction of water engineers.

- Participate in performing techniques in construction, organizing construction, maintenance, upgrading, and solidifying small irrigation projects within irrigation systems according to current regulations.

- Manage, operate, and exploit medium and small irrigation projects, and solve technical issues of the system according to proper procedures and standards under the guidance and direction of water engineers.

- Have the ability to organize and manage a small working team to participate in the construction, management, and exploitation of irrigation projects.

3. Attitude

Demonstrate good ethical qualities and correct awareness of the profession, cooperative attitudes with colleagues, respect for laws and workplace regulations, honesty, high discipline, and readiness to undertake assigned tasks.
