Vietnam: The number of deputy heads of public service providers (Illustrative image)

In Decree 120/2020/ND-CP, regulations concerning the number of deputy heads of public service providers in Vietnam are as follows:

- For public service providers self-covering their recurrent and investment expenditures in Vietnam: The number of deputy heads of public service providers in the organizational structure of ministries and ministerial-level agencies is on average no more than 03 persons per public service provider; the number of deputy heads of other public service providers shall follow the establishment Scheme (in the case of new establishment) or the unit's autonomy Scheme approved by the competent authority;

- For public service providers self-covering their recurrent expenditures in Vietnam: The number of deputy heads of public service providers in the organizational structure of ministries and ministerial-level agencies is on average no more than 03 persons per public service provider; other public service providers shall have no more than 03 deputy heads;

- For public service providers partially covering their recurrent expenditures, public service providers whose recurrent expenditures are funded from the state budget:

+ The number of deputy heads of public service providers in the organizational structure of ministries and ministerial-level agencies is on average no more than 03 persons per public service provider.

+ Public service provider specified in Point a, Clause 1, Article 6 (except public service provider ino the organizational structure of ministries and ministerial-level agencies), Clause 2, and Point a, Clause 4, Article 2 of Decree 120/2020/ND-CP with 20 or fewer public employees shall have no more than 02 deputy heads; public service providers with more than 20 public employees shall have no more than 03 deputy heads.

+ Public service provider specified in Points b, c, d, and dd, Clause 1, Clause 3, Points b, c, and d, Clause 4, and Clause 5, Article 2 of Decree 120/2020/ND-CP shall have no more than 02 deputy heads.
