Vietnam: The list of indicators of customs units for placing number plates of boats, canoes and motorboats

According to the Decree No. 02/2021/NĐ-CP of the Vietnam’s Government, number plates for boats, canoes and motorboats of the customs force will be placed according to the following specifications: HQ "unit index" "category index" "vehicle index", in which:

- FIQ: A group of letters indicating boats, canoes, motorboats belonging to the customs sector.

- Unit index: Consists of 02 digits specified in the Appendix attached to this Decree. In case there is a newly established Customs Department-level unit, the unit index will be taken from "37" onwards. In case the Customs Departments are merged, the lowest index of the merged unit will be taken.

- Category index: Consists of 02 digits, in which: “91” is a means of transport and patrol, “99” is an oil tanker, “01” is a motorboat, a canoe equipped with independent equipment (not together with a ship). Motorboats and canoes equipped with ships will take the number plate of the ship.

- Vehicle index: Consists of 02 digits, from 01 to 99 indicating the ordinal number of vehicles equipped for a customs unit. In case the vehicle index of a focal point is greater than 99, the category index number 92, 93 and the vehicle index determined from 01 to 99.
