This content is specified in Decree No. 07/2014/ND-CP of Vietnam’s Government regulating the organization, tasks, powers, and coordination relationships of the anti-terrorism steering committees at all levels.
Powers of the Anti-terrorism Steering Committee of the Ministry of Public are specified in Decree No. 07/2014/ND-CP of Vietnam’s Government as follows:
- Assist the Minister of Public Security in organizing and directing the anti-terrorism activities of the Ministry of Public Security; coordinate with other ministries, departments, and provincial-level People's Committees to implement anti-terrorism measures.
- Provide advice to the National Anti-terrorism Steering Committee on strategies, programs, plans, options, measures, and solutions for anti-terrorism; handle terrorist incidents, mitigate and limit the consequences caused by terrorism.
- Assist the National Anti-terrorism Steering Committee in inspecting, urging, guiding, summarizing, evaluating the implementation of laws, programs, and plans for antir-terrorism; monitor and direct international cooperation in counter-terrorism; supervise and instruct the investigation of serious and complex terrorist cases.
- Coordinate with the National Anti-terrorism Steering Committee, relevant ministries, departments, and provincial-level People's Committees in advising and directing the handling of terrorist incidents; implement approved anti-terrorism plans and conduct exercises for anti-terrorism.
