The Law on compulsory purchase and requisition of property 2008 of Vietnam consists of 4 chapters and 42 articles, of which one of the notable contents is the regulation on rights and obligations of owners of property subject to compulsory purchase and requisition.

Specifically, according to Article 10 of the Law on compulsory purchase and requisition of property 2008 of Vietnam, owners of property subject to compulsory purchase and requisition shall have the following rights:

One, to receive payment for the compulsory purchase of property; to have the requisitioned property returned and be compensated for any damages caused by the requisition of property.

Two, to receive commendations for achievements and contributions in the activities of compulsory purchase and requisition of property, as stipulated by law.

Three, to file complaints, reports, or initiate lawsuits regarding the compulsory purchase and requisition of property, as regulated by law.

In addition to having these rights, the owner of the property subject to compulsory purchase and requisition also has the obligation to comply with the decision on the compulsory purchase and requisition of property.
