Vietnam: Responsibilities to be achieved after graduating from the college-level Thermal Engineering Technology

Recently, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam issued Circular No. 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum knowledge requirements and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation from the intermediate and college levels for professions in the fields of materials, metallurgy, manufacturing, and other technical fields.

According to the regulations on the minimum amount of knowledge and the necessary skills that students must attain after graduating from intermediate and associate degree programs in the field of thermal engineering technology, as issued in Circular 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the following are the minimum levels of autonomy and responsibility that a graduate in thermal engineering technology at the associate degree level must achieve:

  • Responsible for the results of their own work and that of their group in front of the leaders of their agency, organization, or enterprise;
  • Autonomous in resolving technical issues that arise;
  • Able to evaluate the quality of products upon completion and the performance of members within their group;
  • Adhere to and comply with legal regulations and state policies in professional activities;
  • Strictly follow regulations on labor protection, workplace safety, and fire prevention and control;
  • Have a sense of ongoing learning and training to improve professional expertise and technical skills.
