This is one of the contents stipulated in Circular 33/2014/TT-BKHCN promulgating the regulation on management of ministerial-level science and technology tasks of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam, issued on November 06, 2014.
Vietnam: Requirements to be satisfied by individuals in charge of ministerial-level science and technology tasks (Illustrative Image)
Individuals registering to be in charge of ministerial-level science and technology tasks in Vietnam must meet the following requirements:
- Hold at least a university degree;
- Have the appropriate expertise or job position and be active in the same science and technology sector as the task in the last three years leading up to the time of application submission;
- Be the main author or a key participant in drafting the science and technology task proposals;
- Have the ability to directly organize the performance and ensure sufficient time to be in charge of the research work of the science and technology task.
Individuals in the following categories are not eligible to register for selection or direct assignment as individuals in charge of science and technology tasks:
- At the deadline for application submission, still being individuals in charge of two (02) or more science and technology tasks (including ministerial, provincial, and national topics, schemes, and projects; topics and projects funded by state science and technology funds or conducted by loans or guaranteed loans from state funds);
- Individuals who were in charge of science and technology tasks assessed as “unqualified” will not be eligible to register for selection or direct assignment for three (03) years from the assessment conclusion date;
- Individuals in charge of science and technology tasks at any level who committed violations leading to suspension and criminal prosecution will not be eligible to register for selection or direct assignment for five (05) years from the date of the authoritative decision.
