Vietnam: Requirements for provision of training in management and use of weapons, military explosives and combat gears

Weapons and explosives, if there is no proper management, use and storage mechanism, can easily cause unpredictable damage. Therefore, the State has issued specific regulations to manage the above materials, one of which is the Decree No. 79/2018/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government providing guidelines for implementation of the Law on Management and Use of Weapons, Explosives and Combat Gears.

According to Decree No. 79/2018/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government, the provision of training in management and use of weapons, military explosives and combat gears shall be conformable to registered training contents about types of weapons, military explosives and combat gears.

Training contents:

- Regulations of law on management and use of weapons, military explosives and combat gears;

- Structure, functions and effects of each weapon, military explosive and combat gear;

- Management and maintenance of weapons, military explosives and combat gears; management of warehouses, storage places, military explosives and combat gears;

- Training in use of each type of weapon, military explosive and combat gear.

The time limit for provision of training in management and use of military weapons, sporting weapons and cold weapons is 10 days and 05 working days respectively. Time limit for management of warehouses and storage places is 05 working days.

The place of training shall have sufficient and appropriate facilities, equipment and instruments and comply with regulations on security, order, fire prevention and fighting and environmental protection.

The funding for provision of training shall be covered by the organization/enterprise that requests training.
