Vietnam: Remuneration for laborers performing arts in the Vietnam People's Army

Recently, the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam issued Circular 167/2008/TT-BQP guiding the implementation of job-based preferential allowance and remuneration policies for laborers performing arts in the Vietnam People's Army.

Circular 167/2008/TT-BQP stipulates the remuneration for laborers performing arts in the Vietnam People's Army as follows:

Rehearsal allowance:

- VND 20,000/day, applicable to actors playing main roles in performances; lead actors in music and dance programs;

- VND 15,000/day, applicable to actors playing second main roles in performances; second lead actors in music and dance programs.- VND 10,000/day, applicable to actors playing supporting roles in performances; supporting actors in music and dance programs, and supporting staff for rehearsals.

Performance allowance:

- VND 50,000/performance, applicable to actors playing main roles in performances; lead actors in music and dance programs; artistic directors of the performance;

- VND 40,000/performance, applicable to actors playing second main roles in performances; second lead actors in music and dance programs;

- VND 20,000/performance, applicable to actors playing supporting roles in performances; support staff for performances and other personnel (including team leaders, vice leaders, and logistics staff).

Funding source:

The funding for paying for the rehearsal and performance allowances is funded from the budget for program and performance production and the revenue generated from performances outside the main political tasks.

Payment method

- Rehearsal and performance allowances are paid per rehearsal day or performance and are not used to calculate social insurance benefits or health insurance benefits;

- In case a person holds multiple roles, only the highest allowance will be paid.
