Vietnam: Regulations on film advertising activities according to the Amending Cinematography Law 2009

The Law Amending and Supplementing a Number of Articles of the Cinematography Law 2009 of Vietnam was promulgated on June 16, 2009. This Law has amended and supplemented a number of provisions in the Cinematography Law 2006, typically the revised contents on film advertising activities.

According to Clause 15 Article 1 of the Law Amending and Supplementing a Number of Articles of the Cinematography Law 2009 of Vietnam amending Clause 2 Article 40 of the Cinematography Law 2006 of Vietnam, film advertising is provided for as follows:

1. Film production enterprises and television or radio-television stations may introduce information on films in the course of preparation and production of these films;

2. Film production enterprises and television or radio-television stations may not project the full contents of films for advertisement purposes when they have not yet acquired dissemination permits for such films from a competent cinematography state management agency or broadcasting decisions of heads of television or radio-television stations.

Film advertisement includes advertisement about films and advertising in films. Advertisement in films shall comply with the advertisement law.
