Vietnam: Reducing the time limit for granting the quality certificate of renovated vehicle

The Ministry of Transport of Vietnam issued Circular No. 42/2018/TT-BGTVT amending a number of Articles of Circulars on registration.

Circular No. 42/2018/TT-BGTVT of the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam has shortened the time to issue the quality certificate of renovated vehicle, specifically as follows:

- After the vehicle has been reconditioned and has been accepted for acceptance and met the requirements, it will be granted a quality certificate of renovated vehicle.

- The certificate of renovation consists of 02 copies, issued to the vehicle owner to carry out inspection and license plate registration procedures.

- Time limit for issuance of certificate of quality of modified vehicle: Within 3 working days from the day on which the modified vehicle undergoes acceptance and is found conformable.

Concurrently, responsibilities of Vietnam Register are amended as follows:

- Implement this Circular No. 89/2015/TT-BGTVT;

- Develop the software for management of imported, modified and in-use heavy-duty vehicles, unify printing and management of specimens of safety inspection certificate, safety inspection stamp and quality certificates specified in Circular No. 89/2015/TT-BGTVT.

Circular No. 42/2018/TT-BGTVT of the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam takes effect from October 15, 2018.
